In the words of Melissa Kimble, “This world does not move without Black creativity.” Reel to Reality Festival is so proud to honour and celebrate the black child through our first, but not last Community Screening, in partnership with Vicky Denise Chili’s eKasi Bioscope. This partnership is particularly important because it presents the opportunity to return to the communities that raise so many young creatives, yet lack access to African diasporic cinema. eKasi Bioscope is a mobile movie cinema that screens African-Inspired movies in the townships of KZN. On the 25th of March, we showcased 7 short animations and films to children in Umlazi E-Section as part of our Community Screening, powered by eKasi Bioscope.
