Johannesburg-based multidisciplinary artist, Ntate Phakela, has been honing his skills in telling African stories through multiple mediums since 2018. Originally a filmmaker, Ntate blended his storytelling skills with his ever-growing love for African digital and fine art, bringing out the perfect marriage of his two passions. 

Ntate’s evolution as a storyteller has allowed him to introduce some of the most forsaken, and ordinary stories of African people as beautiful and unforgettable works of art. His use of digital and fine art mediums to tell these stories has allowed Ntate to challenge the norms of African storytelling. He pays homage to the traditional toneofAfrican storytelling of the past, and to how African history, culture, and tradition were passed on through story.
