When you find yourself in solitude, feelings of loneliness and needs arise – seemingly empty space always allows for heightened senses…This can leave you delirious – but you aren’t alone. Look inward, there is a love that lies within. Director Koketso Matabane has taken the culmination of emotions we sometimes fail to acknowledge and openly embraced the expression of being alone with oneself. This visual (short film/project) embodies the courage necessary to confront your feelings and needs, to challenge the comforts that confine/define your creativity.  The zero budget film tested the crew’s dedication and determination. Resulting in a collection of different artistic talents all working together to make the idea a reality. No budget doesn’t mean there weren’t any costs involved… We would like to thank all individuals for their time, resources, connections, ideas, sacrifice and irreplaceable presence. 

SOUNDS OF ISOLATION is a passion project that began as an expression of solitude. A group of creatives / individuals came together to make this expression accessible, to convey the message that even if you feel alone – you are never alone.
